You can add a mailbox from your Lurstan Host web hosting or WordPress hosting plan to the Mail app on an iPhone or iPad in a few minutes. Have your full email address and the mailbox password ready.

Business email (OX App Suite) mailboxes use different settings. Open a ticket if you need them.

Add the account

  1. Open Settings and go to Mail > Accounts. On iOS 18 and later this is Apps > Mail > Mail Accounts.
  2. Tap Add Account, then Other, then Add Mail Account.
  3. Enter your Name (the name people will see), your full Email address, the mailbox Password and a Description, such as Work. Tap Next.
  4. Choose IMAP at the top. IMAP keeps your mail in step on every device.
  5. Fill in both server sections as below, then tap Next and Save.
Section Host Name User Name Password
Incoming Mail Server cloud.lurstanhost.net Your full email address Mailbox password
Outgoing Mail Server cloud.lurstanhost.net Your full email address Mailbox password

The iPhone marks the outgoing user name and password as optional. Fill them in anyway: our server only sends mail for apps that log in.

Check the ports

The iPhone usually finds the right ports by itself. If mail will not send or arrive, check them:

  1. In Mail Accounts, tap the account, then tap Account.
  2. Under Outgoing Mail Server, tap SMTP, then the primary server. Make sure Use SSL is on, Authentication is Password and Server Port is 465. Tap Done.
  3. Back on the account screen, tap Advanced. Under Incoming Settings, make sure Use SSL is on and Server Port is 993.

Why cloud.lurstanhost.net?

Our server's certificate is issued for lurstanhost.net names, so using cloud.lurstanhost.net avoids a "Cannot Verify Server Identity" warning. Names such as imap.yourdomain.com or smtp.yourdomain.com do not exist on our hosting. See What's the difference between using mail.domain.com and imap/smtp.domain.com?
