FTP is not open on our shared hosting server from outside at the moment, so an FTP program cannot connect yet. To upload or manage files today, use cPanel File Manager in your web browser:

  1. Log in to cPanel at https://cloud.lurstanhost.net:2083.
  2. Under Files, open File Manager.
  3. Your main website is in the public_html folder. Use Upload in the toolbar to add files.

Connecting with FileZilla, once FTP is open

  1. Install FileZilla (the client, not the server) from its official website.
  2. Open File > Site Manager and select New site.
  3. Set Protocol to FTP - File Transfer Protocol.
  4. Set Host to cloud.lurstanhost.net and Port to 21.
  5. Set Encryption to Require explicit FTP over TLS.
  6. Set Logon Type to Normal, then enter your cPanel username and password. For an extra FTP account made in cPanel under Files > FTP Accounts, use its full username, for example name@yourdomain.com.
  7. Select Connect.

Use cloud.lurstanhost.net as the host, not your own domain. The server's security certificate is for that name, so you will not get a certificate warning.
