No. The sudo command runs a command as the root user, who controls the whole server. On shared hosting many customers share one server, so no hosting account has root access and sudo is not available.

SSH is also not open on our shared hosting server at the moment. You manage your files, databases, email and settings in cPanel at https://cloud.lurstanhost.net:2083.

If you need root or sudo

Choose a Linux VPS on NVMe. It is your own server: you log in over SSH as root and can install the software you need. See How do I connect to my Linux VPS using SSH?

If you are not sure which you need, open a support ticket and tell us what you want to install. We answer within one working hour, Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30 (Lagos time).
