Some providers, such as an advertising network or a security company, ask for your website's access logs. These logs list each visit to your site: the visitor's IP address, the page requested and the time.

Download the logs in cPanel

  1. Log in to cPanel at https://cloud.lurstanhost.net:2083.
  2. Under Metrics, open Raw Access.
  3. In the list of current raw access logs, select your domain. The log downloads as a compressed .gz file, which most computers can open, or which you can send as it is.

Older logs are kept only if archiving is turned on, on the same Raw Access page.

For website errors rather than visits, open Errors under Metrics. It shows the most recent entries from your error log.

Before you send them

Visitors' IP addresses can be personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Send only the dates the provider needs, send them only to a provider you trust, and delete copies you no longer need.
